SHANGHAI, May 8 (SMM) – China’s imports of copper ore and concentrate rose 16.7% from a year ago to stand at 7.24 million mt for the first four months of 2019, according to data from China Customs released on Wednesday May 8.
Copper ore and concentrate imports in April stood at 1.66 million mt, up 6.6% year on year.
Customs data also showed that imports of unwrought copper and copper products came in at 405,000 mt last month.
This grew imports in January-April to 1.59 million mt, down 5.3% from the same period last year.
Import prices of unwrought copper and copper products averaged 45,200 yuan/mt in January-April, down 5.1% on a yearly basis.
