China’s sales of air-conditioners edge up 0.9% YoY in Jan-Mar

SHANGHAI, May 5 (SMM) – A total of 16.898 million single-room air-conditioners were delivered in the month of March, up from 9.238 million units in February but down 2% year on year, according to the latest data from ChinaIOL.com.

Domestic sales rose 2.9% from a year earlier to stand at 9.516 million units, while deliveries for export dropped 7.6% year on year and came in at 7.383 million units.

Some 40.273 million units were sold in the first three months of 2019, up 0.9% on a yearly basis.

Domestic sales in January-March gained 2.9% from a year ago, while export sales declined 1.4%.

Sales of central air-conditioning units stood at 909,000 units in March, up 11.1% year on year.
