SMM4, March 2: according to foreign media reports, Romanian aluminum company Alro Slatina said that although revenue this year is expected to grow by 2%, but this year's net profit may be 78% lower than the same period last year.

But a sharp rise in electricity costs will lead to a sharp drop in profits this year. This is mainly due to recent regulations implemented by the Romanian government that will raise the price of industrial electricity, while Alro Slatina has the highest industrial electricity consumption in the country.

The company reported that the increase in production of aluminum-processed products was reflected in increased turnover, while higher costs, particularly electricity and natural gas costs, were reflected in gross margins and overall financial position.

Last year, the company's net profit fell 28 per cent from the previous year to $49 million, mainly due to rising electricity costs.

Founded in 1963, Alro Slatina is headquartered in Slatina, Romania. With an annual capacity of 265000 tons, it is one of the largest producers in Central and Eastern Europe outside Russia and Scandinavia.
