SMM3, 22 March: according to foreign media reports, Australia's main iron ore export port operator said that as a strong tropical cyclone is moving to the northwest coast, the company is cleaning up ships at the scene. Miners are also preparing for another cyclone in the northeast.

Rio Tinto (Rio Tinto), the world's second largest iron ore producer, is a leading exporter of the port of Dampier. BHP Billiton (BHP Billiton) and (Fortescue Metals Group), the world's second-and third-largest steelmakers, ship from Port Hedland (Port Hedland).

Australian mining giant Rio Tinto also said on Wednesday that it had suspended operations at its Weipa bauxite mine in northeastern Australia ahead of the hurricane.

Glencore (Glencore) said on Friday that it had suspended mining and shipping operations at (MRM), the McArthur River zinc mine in northern Australia, in preparation for an upcoming hurricane.
