SMM3, 19 March, Guangdong Guanghua Technology Co., Ltd. (Guanghua Technology for short) issued a notice saying that the company and Anhui Xinsheng Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement on the recycling and disposal of waste power batteries. The two sides will cooperate in the recovery and disposal of waste batteries and the recycling of power battery materials. Xinsheng Automobile will meet the Sinorama science and technology recycling standards of waste batteries, modules, poles, decommissioned power battery packages to Sinorama Science and Technology disposal, together to establish a waste power battery recycling network to ensure the orderly recovery and standardized treatment of waste power batteries.

How big is the market for battery recycling?

According to data from the China Business Industry Research Institute, the recycling market created by recovering cobalt, nickel, manganese, lithium, iron and aluminum from waste power lithium batteries will exceed 5.3 billion yuan in 2018 and 10 billion yuan in 2020. The market of waste power lithium batteries will reach 25 billion yuan in 2023.

The metal content of different types of power batteries is different, and the corresponding recyclable metal quantity and price are also different. According to its forecast, among the new scrapped power batteries in 2018, the recyclable use of nickel is as high as 18000 tons. After calculation, the corresponding recovery price of nickel is 1.4 billion yuan. Compared with nickel, the recovery amount of lithium is relatively small, but the calculated recovery price is much higher than that of nickel up to 2.6 billion yuan.

Power lithium battery recycling is imminent!

In January last year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other seven departments jointly issued the interim measures for the Administration of Recycling and Utilization of Power batteries for New Energy vehicles. In July last year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the interim regulations on the Administration of traceability for the recovery and Utilization of Power batteries for New Energy vehicles. It can be seen from the continuous introduction of relevant policies by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology that the recovery and utilization of power lithium batteries is imminent.

Zhang Tianren, deputy to the National people's Congress and chairman of the board of directors of Tianneng Group, said in an interview with the media: "China ranks first in the production and sales of new energy vehicles in the world, while the useful life of power batteries is generally 5 to 8 years, and the effective life is 4 to 6 years. This means that the first batch of new energy vehicles on the market power batteries are basically at the critical point of elimination. A series of institutional measures issued by the state have played a positive role in strengthening the comprehensive and efficient utilization of scrapped batteries. However, the recycling of new energy power lithium battery is a new field, which is in its infancy and is facing some outstanding problems. "

In Zhang Tianren's view, imperfect recovery system, immature recycling technology, and inadequate incentive measures are the three major problems facing him at present. He believes that speeding up the formulation of standards and unifying management norms is the basis for carrying out relevant work. In terms of incentive measures, it is suggested that the relevant departments should speed up the study and formulation of fiscal and tax incentives, industrial funds, points management and other incentive policies, study and explore market-oriented models such as residual value trading of power batteries, so as to promote the recovery and utilization of power batteries. At the technical level, it is suggested that we should organize joint efforts to solve key problems and break through the key common technologies. At the level of industrial planning, Zhang Tianren suggested a reasonable layout to avoid overcapacity.

Sinorama Technology: battery Recycling Business will open a new chapter in the growth of the company

According to data from Zhongtai Securities, the current battery recovery business of the company is mainly dealing with 3C, mainly covering Jiangxi, Shenzhen and Fujian, and the automobile power battery is still in storage period, and has signed framework cooperation agreements with major automobile and bus companies. It is expected that the company will gain more market share in the supply of raw materials and have a first-mover advantage. And the company's production capacity has expanded substantially. The company put into production a demonstration project at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2017. the disposal capacity of the waste battery recovery line reached 150T / month, and then the recovery line continued to expand its production capacity. At present, the processing capacity is about 1000 tons / month, and the subsequent production capacity is expected to continue to expand. Battery recycling business is expected to open up the company's growth space.
