SMM1, 10 March: San Marco Resources announced today that after completing the first phase of exploration and evaluation, experts will be able to confirm the existence of a porphyry copper, molybdenum and gold system in the Espiritu SMR area of the northern Mexican state of Sonora.

The historical drilling test data show that gold and copper mineralization is extensive.

In a press release, the Vancouver-based miner said a recent exploration project led by geologist Luciano Bocanegra (Luciano Bocanegra) confirmed that the multi-stage copper-molybdenum-gold porphyry system had the smallest alteration footprint. It is 2.5 km by 1.2 km and is open in many directions.

The scheme is also helpful to determine that copper mineralization may be preserved in the deep part of the shallow part of the porphyry system.

The movement also helps identify previously unknown vector tools that can help identify potential areas with the highest levels of mineralization, as well as buried targets beneath post-mineral rocks, San Marco said.

"We are satisfied with the results and interpretation of the first phase of Espiritu SMR's work," Chris T. Grijalva, the company's chief executive, said in a media briefing. "this extensive interpretation and the recent re-mapping of the project area have better determined the surface scope of the porphyry system and demonstrated that several of these areas are still open for exploration."
