SMM12, 25 June: recently, JUPITER Mining released its third quarter activity report for fiscal year 2019, which showed that Tshipi production and sales remained normal in the current quarter. Jupiter Mines Limited has a 49.9 per cent beneficial interest in Tshipi é Ntle Manganese Mine (Pty) Co., Ltd. ("Tshipi"), which operates the Tshipi Borwa Manganese Mine in the south of the Kalahari Manganese Mine.
Mining and production
During the quarter, due to a failure of the excavator that had been readjusted at the end of November, the total mining volume was 160000 bcms, including 100000 bcms of graded ore. As the speed of mining slows down, the amount of graded ore decreases in order to ensure the quality of high-quality products.
Logistics and sales
Tshipi's (the new Durban) logistics route in Durban was reallocated by Transnet. It is reported that during the quarter, strong gusts caused the crane to collapse in Port Elizabeth (Port Elizabeth), causing the facility to be temporarily closed. Together with the redistribution in Durban, exports of 139000 tons of products, originally scheduled for December, were delayed.
Sales and finance
The sales and financial information for the quarter ended 30 October 2018 is as follows:
As a result of the manganese price rise in the current quarter, the company's marketing team continues to perform strongly, with sales expected to reach 1.3 million tons in fiscal 2019.
