SMB, a Guinean bauxite producer, plans to spend $1.2 billion on railways

SMM11 26th news: the Guinean government said that Guinea, Shandong Weiqiao Aluminum aluminum industry, win Shipping Ltd. And UMS International Ltd. Societe Miniere de Boke, a bauxite producer and joint venture, will spend $1.2 billion on a railway. The 135km (84-mile) railway, which will connect SMB's mining business to the port of Dapelon, will open within 18 months. The concessions will include the expansion of the company's bauxite mines, the establishment of facilities to process ore into alumina, and the purchase of vehicles, government spokesman Sila (Aboubacar Sylla) said in an emailed statement Thursday. Guinea, with more than 1/4 of the world's bauxite reserves, is China's largest exporter of bauxite.
