SMM11, 8th March: Russian aluminum company (Rusal) 's aluminum exports increased by 4 per cent in October compared with the previous month, according to Interfax news agency (Interfax). In April, the US Treasury blacklisted Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska (Oleg Deripaska) and eight other oligarchs, including Rusal's (Rusal).
Russian Interfax news agency (Interfax) quoted data from Russian railway company (Russian Railways) as saying Rusal exported 272000 tons last month. Rusal publishes export figures on a quarterly basis. The company has repeatedly questioned the monthly data of the Russian railway sector, saying they do not take into account actual sales and other factors.
A person familiar with Rusal said earlier that the figures referred to the delivery of Rusal plants by rail to the port station.
In 2017, Rusal sold 4 million tons of aluminium, 42 per cent of which was shipped to Europe.
