German exports of waste aluminum have increased sharply this year, but imports have fallen back

SMM11, May 5: the German automobile industry has produced a large amount of aluminum waste. Germany exports about 1 million tons of waste every year and has an annual growth trend. According to global import and export figures, Germany exported 1.05 million tons of waste aluminum in 2016, a further increase of about 2 per cent to 1.07 million tons in the following year.

Germany has also imported large quantities of aluminum waste for its domestic industry. But this year's volume is estimated to be down 1 per cent to 782516 tons, compared with 787844 tons in 2017. However, German imports of aluminium waste grew by about 1.6 per cent in 2018 compared with 770129 tons in 2016, reflecting an increase of about 2.30 per cent from a year earlier.

German revenues are also expected to grow, from $1.325 billion in 2017 to $2.537 billion in 2018, as exports of aluminum scrap increase. That means the country is likely to see a big increase this year, with aluminum scrap export earnings of about 91.47 per cent, according to the data. But despite the increase in sales, revenue in 2017 was lower than the previous year. In 2016, German aluminum scrap export revenue was US $1.372 billion, an increase of 3.54 per cent over 2017.

Similarly, as imports fall compared with 2017, the cost of importing aluminium in Germany is likely to be lower this year, at $914 million, down 20 per cent from $1.15 billion in 2017. Although it is estimated that imports have increased starting in 2016, the cost of imports this year is expected to be lower than the $939 million in 2016.

Fed to Keep Large Banks' Capital Levels Unchanged, Postpones Stress Test Reforms Until 2027
The US Fed has announced that it will maintain the capital levels of large banks unchanged during the upcoming stress test cycle (corresponding to the 2026 cycle). At the same time, the US Fed is planning multidimensional reforms to this annual test, aiming to enhance its transparency. The US Fed's Vice Chair for Supervision, Bowman, revealed that adjustments to the stress capital buffer requirements for large banks will be postponed until 2027. This move is intended to provide the US Fed with sufficient time to evaluate potential flaws that may be exposed in its testing models when assessing banks' financial conditions under simulated economic downturn scenarios.
