SMM10, 17 / 17 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-Harvey (Roy Harvey), chief executive of Alcoa (Alcoa), said in a telephone interview that even if the U.S. Treasury Department allows Russian aluminum company (United Co. Rusal) remained in business until December, as consumers continued to scramble for aluminum on the market.

The United States Government has now allowed Deripasca to hold more talks with him on sanctions.

Alcoa had also raised its forecast for a global alumina shortage for the whole year.

Alcoa will consider its capital allocation plan for 2019 in January, and Harvey told analysts on a conference call that consumers are likely to use more scrap aluminum to avoid importing products subject to tariffs, hurting demand for raw aluminum.
