Alcoa: strike in Western Australia reduces alumina production by 15000 tons in August

SMM, Sept. 7: according to foreign news, the American aluminum company (Alcoa) said that the strike in Western Australia led to a reduction of 15000 tons of alumina production in August, and the company will continue to monitor the development of the situation. Alcoa produces about 9 million tons of alumina a year. Strikes at the company's alumina plants and bauxite mines in Western Australia have been going on for more than four weeks.
