Russian Finance Ministry: no formal decision has yet been made on whether to increase taxes on commodity companies

SMM8 13-Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said on Friday that the government would draft a report on taxes on commodity companies after news that the Kremlin had approved a proposal to increase taxes on metals and mining companies.

It is reported that news of the proposal was put forward by Andre Belosov, an economic adviser to the Kremlin, in a letter to Putin.

Subsequently, the Siluanov said in a statement that so far, the Russian government has not made a specific decision on whether to raise taxes on commodity companies.
