Alliance Mineral signs Cooperation Agreement with Jiangte Motor to produce and sell Lithium hydroxide

SMM4, March 30: Alliance Mineral Assets, an Australian lithium producer, said on Monday that it had signed a cooperation agreement with China Jiangte Motor to produce and sell lithium hydroxide, according to the Mining website. This will allow the company to put minerals directly into each other's production lines, regardless of the risk of capital costs.

Jiangte Motor is a major manufacturer of electric vehicle engines in China.

As part of the deal, Alliance Mineral and Jiangte Motor have agreed to enter the downstream lithium market within the next 6 to 12 months.

Mark Calderwood, general manager of Alliance Mineral, said: "this partnership provides a fast and low-risk channel for downstream production and distribution of battery-grade lithium products. And the market demand for lithium hydroxide is increasing, in addition to traditional industrial applications, many rechargeable battery manufacturers will be using lithium hydroxide.

Zhu Jun, chairman of Jiangte, said that the cooperation between "one of the high-quality lithium salt producers in Australia" and "the large lithium salt producers in China" could enhance the market influence and profitability of both sides.
