SMM: according to Bloomberg, JPMorgan Chase said Sumitomo Bank could be closely involved in the feasibility study in preparation for rapid financing and construction of a copper project at the Yanacocha gold mine in Peru.

Due to the transition to copper and uncertainty about the potential of the deposit, it is reasonable for Sumitomo to pay 5 per cent to Yanacocha, while Yanacocha partners are likely to seek synergies with surrounding property owners.
