






The sixth working meeting of the Yangtze River Delta Regional Air pollution Prevention and Control Cooperation Group and the third working meeting of the Yangtze River Delta Regional Water pollution Prevention and Control Cooperation Group were held in Shanghai on June 2. Li Qiang, member of the political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, secretary of the Shanghai Municipal CPC Committee, and head of the cooperation group, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Li Ganjie, minister of ecology and environment, spoke at the meeting. Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu Province, Yuan Jiajun, governor of Zhejiang Province, Li Guoying, governor of Anhui Province, and Zhou Bo, executive vice mayor of Shanghai, respectively introduced the progress of atmospheric and water pollution prevention and control measures in the province and the city, as well as the next arrangements and relevant suggestions.
[Ningxia will carry out special inspections of emission permits involving 13 key industries such as coking, non-ferrous metal smelting, electroplating, and so on] on 31 May, it was learned from the Environmental Protection Department of the Autonomous region that Ningxia will carry out special law enforcement inspections of emission permits. In 2017, 13 key industries were involved in thermal power, papermaking, cement, petrochemical, coking, glass, electroplating, pharmaceutical, pesticide, nitrogen fertilizer, printing and dyeing, tannery and non-ferrous metal smelting.
On 1 June, the Provincial Environmental Protection Department and the Public Security Bureau jointly informed the eight cities along the Yangtze River that they had jointly grasped major protections and cross-checked the special operations of environmental protection joint law enforcement. During the special operation of joint law enforcement, the inspection teams of the eight cities along the Yangtze River dispatched 960 environmental law enforcement personnel and 240 public security police, and found 1199 enterprises with environmental violations, of which 256 enterprises exceeded the standard in wastewater discharge. At present, 187 have been shut down and rectified, 161 have been seized and detained, 25 have been banned from closure, and it is suggested that they be transferred to the administrative detention of public security organs or investigated for criminal responsibility.
