SMM: recently, Guizhou Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources discovered the first very large manganese-rich deposit in Songtao County, China, and passed the evaluation of reserves assessment bodies in Guizhou Province. The newly discovered super-large manganese-rich deposit is located in the national manganese ore resource base of eastern Guizhou and western Hunan, which is planned and constructed by the state, and in the core area of the national manganese ore strategic shortage of mineral security supply. the deposit is composed of a single manganese orebody. It occurs in a huge manganese orebody with 157.7942 million tons of manganese carbonate ore resources and an average manganese grade of 21.82%. Among them, (332) + (333) manganese carbonate rich manganese resources reach 71.6684 million tons, the average grade of manganese is 25.75%, the amount of resources is 3.58 times of the scale of large manganese deposits.
Songtao County, located in eastern Guizhou, is an important manganese ore producing area in China. the continuous discovery of giant manganese ore has attracted the attention of many related operators. Although large manganese ores have been discovered one after another, it is still difficult for China to remove the hat of a "poor manganese country." the main reason is that most of the manganese ores discovered in China are manganese carbonate ore, and the vast majority of them are used in the production of electrolytic manganese metal. The downstream structure is relatively single. However, most of the domestic consumption demand for manganese is concentrated on manganese alloys, including silicon manganese, ferromanganese and so on. Due to the consideration of cost and technology, the production of manganese alloys can not be separated from medium and high grade manganese oxide ore, while the average grade of manganese oxide ore resources in China is very low, and has been exhausted in the development for many years. At present, the supply can only meet the demand of some small ore heaters in the south, and its volume can not compete with the imported manganese ore with stable supply and high grade.
In addition to being unable to meet the production demand of manganese alloys, the demand for manganese carbonate ore in the electrolytic manganese market is also close to saturation, mainly because the electrolytic manganese industry is in a pattern of oversupply. There are few plans to expand the production of manganese enterprises in the southern region using domestic manganese ore, which restricts the pace of development of manganese carbonate ore.
In addition, some operators believe that although the newly discovered manganese ore resources are rich in reserves, but its underground mining costs are high, unless other low-cost local resources have been developed and exhausted, the economic value is limited.
Although the expansion of demand is limited, but because the rigid demand of electrolytic manganese enterprises will exist for a long time, the development prospect of rich manganese carbonate resources in Songtao area is still optimistic by many market people.
In March this year, China Enfei Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Wujiang Industrial Group Guizhou Wuling Mining Co., Ltd. signed a contract for the experimental study of manganese slag solidification and filling in Songtao County Highland Manganese Ore, if the underground safe filling of manganese slag solid waste can be realized. On the one hand, it can solve the problem of manganese slag stacking, on the other hand, it can solve the problem of safe mining in highland manganese mine. therefore, it is of great significance to carry out the experimental research on manganese slag solidification and filling at this stage.
In addition to electrolytic manganese production enterprises, there are also many foreign investors to pine peach, investment in manganese mines and carry out related trade.
SMM believes that although the huge amount of manganese ore resources discovered in Songtao, Guizhou Province, cannot reverse the current situation of "poor manganese" in China, with the in-depth development of various industrial chains of the manganese system and the progress of technology, the potential business opportunities still need to be developed.
