Exports expanded 92.2% from a month ago to stand at 72,000 mt in Mar

SHANGHAI, Apr 26 (SMM) – China’s exports of silicon metal in March almost doubled from February as shipments recovered from the Chinese New Year holiday.

Exports stood at 72,000 mt in March, up 92.2% from a month ago but down 1.9% from a year ago, according to data from China Customs.

The silicon market was on a stable and rising trend in June. A fire broke out in a workshop of an organic silicon factory in Xinjiang on June 8. Market transactions were active in the fear of a reduction in silicon metal production.
