Pre-holiday purchases, fewer seaborne arrivals lower zinc social inventories

Stocks across Shanghai, Guangdong and Tianjin decreased by 12,800 mt on week as of Apr 26

SHANGHAI, Apr 26 (SMM) – Limited seaborne arrivals and downstream stockpiling ahead of the Labour Day holiday extended declines in social inventories of refined zinc, SMM data showed on Friday April 26.

Social inventories of refined zinc across Shanghai, Guangdong and Tianjin decreased by 12,800 mt from Friday April 19, and by 8,900 mt from Monday April 22, to stand at 173,800 mt as of Friday April 26.

Some downstream consumers planned to commence pre-holiday restocking at the start of next week, and this will continue to lower inventories.
