Shanxi Aluminum recovers bauxite mining in Ningwu

Constriction of the bauxite mine initially commenced in Feb 2010

SHANGHAI, Apr 25 (SMM) – State Power Investment Corporation Shanxi Aluminum restarted its bauxite mining project in Kuancaoping Town of Ningwu County on Saturday April 20, according to a news release on the Ningwu government website on Tuesday April 23.

Constriction of the bauxite mine initially commenced in February 2010, but some historical issues drove the project into long suspension during nearly the past decade.

The mining license for the project was obtained from the Department of Land and Resources of Shanxi province in December of 2012, SMM learned.
