April maintenance at Huludao Zinc to affect zinc, lead ingot output

SHANGHAI, Apr 24 (SMM) – Liaoning province's Huludao Zinc Industry under the Metallurgical Corporation of China (MCC) started to conduct maintenance on a lead, zinc production line on April 12, and this is expected to affect output of zinc ingot by 4,000 mt. No lead ingot will be produced during the maintenance.

The company uses zinc concentrate and lead zinc mixed concentrate as raw materials. Its products of lead ingot are sold to lead-acid battery producers in the north. Products of zinc ingot and zinc alloy are supplied to downstream galvanising plants. 

With an annualised capacity of 30,000 mt lead ingot, the company produced some 2,300 mt of lead ingot in March. April's maintenance is expected to lower the output to 800 mt this month. The plant currently holds no inventories of lead ingot.
