Hebei’s Handan to implement level Ⅱ production curbs during Apr 20-25

SHANGHAI, Apr 19 (SMM) – The Handan city of Hebei province, the top steelmaking hub in China, will implement level Ⅱ emergency measures against heavy air pollution during CST 8:00 April 20 to 24:00 April 25, local environmental authorities said on Friday April 19.

Steelmakers in the region are required to cut capacity sintering machines, shaft furnaces and lime kilns by at least 50%.

Manufacturers of building materials, except for glass, are required to suspend.

Operation suspension is also required across the casting process at foundries and the spraying process at all sectors.

Automatic production lines for automobiles could still take the spraying process.
