Spot aluminium premiums hold stable as trades cool

Premiums over the SHFE 1904 contract came in at 320-340 yuan/mt

SHANGHAI, Mar 26 (SMM) – While spot aluminium premiums remained unchanged from the previous day, trades in east China cooled on the morning of Tuesday March 26 as traders held back from purchasing.

In Shanghai, spot aluminium mostly traded at 13,940-13,950 yuan/mt, down from Monday morning. Premiums over the front-month April contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange came in at 320-340 yuan/mt, unchanged from the previous morning.

Spot deals mostly occurred at 13,940-13,950 yuan/mt in Wuxi and 13,970-13,980 yuan/mt in Hangzhou this morning.

Spot aluminium trades across southern markets also thinned from the previous morning as downstream consumers further reduced procurement.

With a premium of 330 yuan/mt over the SHFE April contract, spot aluminium mostly traded at 13,940-13,950 yuan/mt in Guangdong this morning.
