Limited arrivals, greater purchases lower zinc social inventories over weekend

Stocks across Shanghai, Guangdong and Tianjin declined 4,200 mt from Friday to stand at 216,100 mt as of Mar 25

SHANGHAI, Mar 25 (SMM) – Social inventories of refined zinc across Shanghai, Guangdong and Tianjin declined 4,200 mt from Friday March 22 and 12,500 mt from Monday March 18 to stand at 216,100 mt as of Monday March 25, SMM data showed.

Over the weekend, social warehouses across the three regions received limited shipments from domestic smelters and imported materials. More cargoes left the warehouses, bolstered by recovering consumption and the upcoming tax cuts.

SMM expects social inventories of refined zinc across Shanghai, Guangdong and Tianjin to extend declines this week.
