Qinghai West Copper suspends concentrate production on ROM ore supply shortage

The company can produce 1,000 mt in Cu content of copper concentrate per month

SHANGHAI, Mar 20 (SMM) – Qinghai West Copper, a subsidiary of Zijin Mining Group, suspended production of copper concentrate due to insufficient stocks of run-of-mine ore, SMM learned.

The copper concentrate producer, with monthly output of 1,000 mt in Cu content, suspended production since the start of January, and began to stockpile ROM ore. Its current stocks are insufficient for it to resume production.
