Construction of Nanjing Jiangbei Energy Storage Power Station with 130.88 MW power and 268.6 MWh capacity started on Mar 6

Construction of Nanjing Jiangbei Energy Storage Power Station with 130.88 MW power and 268.6 MWh capacity started in the eastern province Jiangsu on Wednesday March 6, yangtse.com reported on the same day.

This is the largest electromechanical energy storage station in China in terms of capacity. The power energy it stores equates to the power a 250-MW plant could generate in an hour and can meet the demands of 130 households for a year.

The energy storage power station works just like a battery charger. It charges up during quiet hours of electricity consumption and delivers power during peak hours.
