Downstream recovery slows growth in social inventories of refined zinc

SHANGHAI, Mar 4 (SMM) – Social inventories of refined zinc across Shanghai, Guangdong and Tianjin continued to expand over the weekend, bolstered by arrivals, but downstream recovery slowed the growth from a week earlier. 

SMM data showed that social inventories of refined zinc across the three areas rose 3,300 mt from Friday March 1 and increased 5,700 mt from Monday February 25 to stand at 218,100 mt as of Monday March 4.

These compared with growth of 4,100 mt on the weekend and 19,200 mt week on week as of Monday February 25.

Further downstream recovery will continue to slow growth in social inventories this week.
