Weekend arrivals grow social inventories of refined zinc in Shanghai, Guangdong, Tianjin

Stocks rose 4,100 mt from Friday Feb 22 and 19,200 mt from Monday Feb 18 to stand at 212,400 mt as of Monday Feb 25

SHANGHAI, Feb 25 (SMM) – Social inventories of refined zinc across Shanghai, Guangdong and Tianjin expanded over the weekend as cargoes arrived at social warehouses.

Downstream purchases improved after downstream consumers returned from the holidays and capped gains in social inventories.

SMM data showed that social inventories of refined zinc across Shanghai, Guangdong and Tianjin rose 4,100 mt from Friday February 22 and 19,200 mt from Monday February 18 to stand at 212,400 mt as of Monday February 25.

With further recovery across downstream consumers, zinc inventories are expected to see a smaller gain this week.
