City of Hebei launches highest-level smog alert on Feb 22

Local industrial enterprises were required to suspend, or cut production on top of the current staggered operation schedule

SHANGHAI, Feb 22 (SMM) – Cangzhou in China's biggest steelmaking province of Hebei issued the most severe pollution alert effective from noon of Friday February 22 to February 28 as heavy smog is expected in the city, local environmental authorities said on Friday February 22.

During the period, local industrial enterprises were required to suspend, or cut production on top of the current staggered operation schedule. 

Diesel-powered trucks were banned from delivering cargoes at mills.
