SHANGHAI, Feb 20 (SMM) – Some silicon producers held back from selling low-quality cargoes on Wednesday as raw material issues lowered output of silicon #500 series that undertook oxygen refining at some northern plants.
If the issue continues, producers are likely to raise their offers.
Prices of silicon metal across Chinese markets remained steady today. Silicon #553 which has undertaken oxygen refining traded at 11,500-11,600 yuan/mt at Tianjin port, an SMM survey showed.
