Shenzhen to establish EV battery recycling system

This is in a bid to promote the effective utilisation and environmentally-friendly treatment of motive batteries

SHANGHAI, Jan 31 (SMM) – The city of Shenzhen in Guangdong province plans to establish a recycling system for motive batteries to promote effective utilisation and environmentally-friendly treatment of motive batteries, according to the latest official bulletin.

On January 18, city authorities announced subsidy standards for new energy vehicles that were registered in 2018. The subsidies also apply to charging facilities and motive battery recycling projects.

From January to August this year, the cumulative profits of industrial enterprises in Shenzhen accounted for about 26% of Guangdong, down 8.0% compared to the same period last year, which is the only city in the province with negative growth.
