SHANGHAI, Jan 24 (SMM) – China’s imports of refined zinc stood at 93,800 mt in December, down 17.4% month on month and 7.02% year on year, showed the latest data from China Customs.
This brought the annual imports to stand at 715,400 mt, up 5.8% from 2017.
In December, refined zinc originated from Spain accounted for the most, 44%, followed by Belgium, taking up for 13%. Australia took the third place, accounting for 12%.
For the year of 2018, refined zinc originated from Australia accounted for the most, 26%. South Korea took the second place, and the proportion came in at 20%.
Australia and South Korea’s zinc is exempted from China’s duties.
