Smaller purchases grow social inventories of primary aluminium

Most downstream plants have closed for CNY, as of Jan 24

SHANGHAI, Jan 24 (SMM) – Social inventories of primary aluminium across eight consumption areas in China, including SHFE warrants, came in at 1.303 million mt as of Thursday January 24, up 39,000 mt from Thursday January 17, SMM data showed.

Limited purchases grew stocks as most downstream plants have closed for CNY, as of January 24, SMM learned.

Details:

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 489,000 mt

Shanghai – 300,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 182,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 119,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 117,000 mt

Tianjin – 48,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 25,000 mt

Chongqing – 23,000 mt
