Long-term contract trades cool spot market of blister copper

In spot market as of Friday Jan 11, RCs for domestic blister copper were mostly offered at 1,450-1,650 yuan/mt

SHANGHAI, Jan 11 (SMM) – Domestic blister copper refineries mostly purchased raw materials under long-term contracts ahead of CNY, and this limited spot transactions.

In the spot market as of Friday January 11, refining charges (RCs) for domestic blister copper were mostly offered at 1,450-1,650 yuan/mt, and RCs for imported blister copper at $175-185/mt cif, both little changed from the end of December.

Imported blister copper RCs settled in long-term contracts stood mostly at $165/mt, and at $180/mt for lower-quality cargoes. For domestic blister copper, RCs agreed in long-term contracts came in at 1,400-1,500 yuan/mt, SMM learned.
