Imports, pre-holiday purchases grow zinc social stocks 

SHANGHAI, Jan 11 (SMM) – Social inventories of refined zinc across Shanghai, Guangdong and Tianjin stood at 104,700 mt as of Friday January 11, up 7,200 mt from Friday January 4 as imported materials flew into domestic market. 

Compared to Monday January 7, social inventories registered a smaller increase of 800 mt as downstream buyers restocked ahead of CNY.   

Next week, social inventories of refined zinc across the three areas are likely to continue to grow in anticipation of an influx of imports.
