Inventories of primary aluminium decline after New Year holiday

Stocks came in at 1.299 million mt as of Monday Jan 7, down 3,000 mt from Wednesday Jan 2

SHANGHAI, Jan 7 (SMM) – Social inventories of primary aluminium across eight consumption areas in China, including SHFE warrants, came in at 1.299 million mt as of Monday January 7, down 3,000 mt from Wednesday January 2, SMM data showed.

For the same period, stocks in Shanghai decreased by about 14,000 mt while stocks in Nanhai increased by some 14,000 mt.

Details:

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 516,000 mt

Shanghai – 302,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 161,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 115,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 106,000 mt

Tianjin – 52,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 25,000 mt

Chongqing – 22,000 mt

Social inventories of lead ingots across Shanghai, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Tianjin expanded 13,600 mt from last Friday July 23 to 172,600 mt as of July 30. This was up 6,500 mt from Monday July 26 and registered a new high since October 2014.
