TCs of imported copper concentrate flat on week
Offers stayed flat week on week as of Friday Jan 4, at $90-94/mt
SHANGHAI, Jan 4 (SMM) – Offers for imported copper concentrate treatment charges (TCs) stayed flat week on week as of Friday January 4, at $90-94/mt, according to SMM assessment.
Some smelters sought raw materials for production in the second quarter, after the China Smelters Purchase Team (CSPT) on December 27 set a floor price for TCs of imported copper for the first quarter.
Floor TCs rose $2/mt from the previous quarter, given weak purchasing enthusiasm among smelters. This week saw limited trades but we expect transactions to pick up in the short run.
