Blast furances at steelmakers such as Dongya and Bofeng will soon produce molten iron

SHANGHAI, Jan 2 (SMM) – Steel mills in Xuzhou, China's second-largest steelmaking province of Jiangsu, began to resume production on January 1, SMM found.

Blast furnaces across steelmakers such as Dongya and Bofeng will soon produce molten iron. Dongnan Iron & Steel also began preparation works on one of its blast furnaces of 550m³. Molten iron will be produced later than Dongya, SMM learned.

Local steel mills suspended in the second half of December, as an effort to improve air quality.
