About 2.26 million passenger vehicles are expected to be delivered by manufacturers in China in Jan 2019

SHANGHAI, Dec 27 (SMM) – About 2.26 million passenger vehicles, including sedans, SUV, multi-purpose vehicles (MPV), are expected to be delivered by manufacturers in China in January 2019, according to the report jointly issued by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) and WAYS.

This would stand 6.6% lower than the sales recorded in January 2018.

Compared to November 2018, wholesale PV volumes in China are expected to post a 6% growth in January 2019 due to seasonality and as auto-makers scurry to meet annual production and sales targets.

As the Chinese News Year approaches, shopping enthusiasm among consumers is set to boost January’s car sales.

In the meantime, declining retail sales and macroeconomic slowdown frustrate car dealers and prompt them to cut orders to manufacturers for cars.

These are time-stamped international spot prices, not mine-gate prices or completed sales by African producers.

Ghana reports refining 5.4 tonnes of small-scale gold locally in October
[SMM Gold Flash] Ghana’s Gold Board reports that 5.4 tonnes of the 5.7 tonnes of artisanal and small-scale gold it had purchased during October had been refined locally, or 94.6%. The figures were presented by its chief executive at a minerals policy forum. The board said two partner refineries had processed 25 tonnes of its small-scale gold cumulatively in 2026. The October figure measures processing of gold bought by the board; it does not measure all gold mined in Ghana. It is a separate development from the export totals reported earlier. Greater local refining could retain more processing activity in Ghana, while the government’s goal of ending raw mineral exports by 2030 remains a target.
