China to lift temporary import tariffs on manganese slag, lithium-ion battery cells in 2019

Temporary import tariffs will be imposed on some 700 items in 2019

SHANGHAI, Dec 27 (SMM) – China will remove temporary import tariffs for manganese slag and lithium-ion battery cells for new-energy vehicles and impose a different tax rate on those products from January 1, according to a notice issued by the Finance Ministry on its website on Monday December 24. 

In 2019, temporary import tariffs will be imposed on some 700 items. China will maintain relatively low import tariffs for aircraft engines, according to the notice.
