High costs and sluggish prices of aluminium led to the cutbacks

SHANGHAI, Dec 24 (SMM) – SPIC Ningxia, an aluminium smelter owned by China State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) and Ningxia Power Investment Corporation, plans to cut aluminium capacity at its Wuzhong plant by 50,000 mt in January, a source told SMM.

High costs and sluggish prices of aluminium led to the cutbacks. SPIC Ningxia has an overall aluminium capacity by 990,000 mt currently.
