SHANGHAI, Dec 12 (SMM) – Installed capacity of lithium-ion batteries during January-October totalled 35.64 GWh, up 90.15% on the year. The increase was mostly attributed to electric passenger vehicles, whose year-to-date installed capacity through October accounted for 55.7% of the total share.
Installed capacity of electric buses ranked second and stood at 10.01 GWh, accounting for 28.1% and up 90.55% on the year.
Plug-in hybrid electric passenger vehicles registered the fastest growth, with installed capacity up 127.66% from January-October in 2017. Plug-in hybrid electric buses and the electric special vehicles sector shrank.
Plug-in hybrid electric passenger vehicles and electric special vehicles had installed capacity of 2.69 GWh and 2.87 GWh, respectively, and accounted for 7.5% and 8.1%.
