SHANGHAI, Dec 7 (SMM) – Two more manganese producers and four miners in Songtao, Guizhou province, received governmental approval to resume operation on December 5.
This marked the third batch of approval that allowed local manganese plants and mining companies to come back to operation, and added to market expectations of a full resumption.
Those mills had kept suspended since mid-May after water and soil pollution in the area, caused by untreated manganese residue, received much media coverage.
