Zhangjiagang Pohang purchases manganese ingot at 13,860 yuan/mt in Dec tender

SHANGHAI, Nov 20 (SMM) – Zhangjiagang Pohang Stainless Steel, a subsidiary of South Korean steelmaker POSCO, settled its purchasing price of manganese ingot for its December tender at 13,860 yuan/mt earlier this week, SMM learned.

The price includes tax and transportation, and payments will be made in acceptance.

This equates to manganese flake price of 12,750 yuan/mt in cash, excluding transportation costs.

The procurement volume stood at 180 mt.

SMM assessments showed that manganese prices across major Chinese production areas averaged 12,750 yuan/mt as of Monday November 19, down 24% or 4,050 yuan/mt from a month ago.
