Sixty-three vessels carrying 9.43 million mt of iron ore are likely to arrive at major Chinese ports during Nov 16-22

SHANGHAI, Nov 20 (SMM) – Sixty-three vessels carrying 9.43 million mt of iron ore are likely to arrive at major Chinese ports during November 16-22, down 1.5 million mt from that during November 9-15, SMM data showed. This ends four consecutive weeks of increase in arrivals.

For the same period, iron ore shipments departing Australian ports will fall 320,000 mt to 15.02 million mt due to maintenance at ports. BHP’s train derailment in western Australia at the start of November also affected iron ore deliveries, as shipment was delayed to some domestic steel mills, SMM learned.

Iron ore shipments leaving Brazilian ports are likely to grow 430,000 mt to 8.27 million mt during the period.
