SHANGHAI, Nov 15 (SMM) – Four blast furnaces at Shanxi Gaoyi Steel were suspended as of the morning of Tuesday November 13, after the Beijing-led, second round of environmental probes uncovered that the plant was dumping slag illegally.
Some 11,000 mt of pig iron production will be affected per day, SMM estimates. The suspension is likely to last up to seven days, after the plant completes rectifications.
