Battery production capacity grows to 7.1 GWh in Oct

China’s production capacity of power batteries stood at 7.1 GWh in Oct, up 1.1% from Sep

SHANGHAI, Nov 12 (SMM) – China’s production capacity of power batteries stood at 7.1 gigawatt-hours (GWh) in October, up 1.1% from September, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) said on Friday.

This grew the overall production capacity of power batteries to 53.1 GWh in January-October with ternary varieties accounting for 29.2 GWh or 55% of the total.

For the same period, the lithium-iron phosphate varieties took up 43.5% of the total, standing at 23.1 GWh.

Full resumption of industrial production is expected across China on March 15, including producers in Hubei, the epicentre of the coronavirus, the latest SMM survey showed.
