SHANGHAI, Nov 8 (SMM) – The government of Shandong plans to raise 100 billion yuan to develop railway networks across the province, in a bid to boost domestic demand, improve poor transport links and promote overall development, stated a document on the provincial government's website on Wednesday November 7.

High-speed rail routes will expand the rail network, and link Jinan, the capital city of Shandong, with other cities across the province within a two-hour journey.

The rail network also will shorten the time spent travelling between Jinan and 14 major cities, to under three hours.

Shandong also plans to reconstruct or expand about 20 expressways, with new mileage up to 1,658 km, by 2020.
