Sale of excavators surge 45% YoY in Oct

SHANGHAI, Nov 7 (SMM) – Sales by China's major producers of excavators surged 44.9% in October from a year earlier, according to the China Construction Machinery Association.

The top 25 producers sold 15,274 units in October, with 13,490 excavators entering the domestic market, up 39.6% year on year. For the same month, exports soared 104.6% to 1,782 units.

In the first 10 months of 2018, domestic sales came in at some 172,000 units, standing 52.5% higher than the same period last year. Domestic sales notched a record high of 178,000 units in 2011. 

Sales of excavators are usually backed by growth in mining, construction, and infrastructure investment.
