Emission cuts to affect long steel output in Lianyungang

Three local mills were required to cut emissions by at least 30% from Nov 1 to Feb 28, 2019

SHANGHAI, Nov 2 (SMM) – Some 9,000 mt of long steel daily production will be affected in Lianyungang of Jiangsu province, as three mills were required to cut emissions by at least 30% on November 1, SMM research found.  

The order was issued by local government on October 29, as part of the national cuts for the 2018/2019 winter. 

Restrictions are slated to last till the end of February 2019. During the period, some 4,000 mt of long steel production will be affected per day at Binxin steel mill, 3,000 mt at Yaxin mill, and 2,000 mt at Xingxin plant. 

The three plants have received official notice and started the emission cuts as of November 1, SMM learned.
